Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant (CA) with 7+ years in mining to
oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and guide strategic decision-making. This
role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior management to
optimize financial performance and support sustainable mining practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare IFRS-compliant reports, incorporating key mining
metrics - Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to mining laws, environmental
regulations, and tax requirements (e.g., royalties, mineral rights). - Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop budgets for exploration, production, and
rehabilitation while analysing commodity price impacts. - Cost Management: Monitor and optimize operational costs, evaluate CAPEX
projects, and track key cost drivers (e.g., fuel, labor). - Audit & Risk Management: Oversee internal/external audits and implement risk
mitigation strategies against market volatility and geopolitical risks. - Tax Strategy: Manage tax filings, transfer pricing, and available tax incentives for
mining operations. - ERP Systems: Utilize SAP/Oracle for financial processes and reporting automation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide financial insights for JVs, M&A, and capital
allocation decisions. - Process Improvement: Drive efficiencies in financial workflows and support digital
transformation initiatives.
Qualifications - Chartered Accountant (CA) certification (required).
- 7+ years in mining finance/accounting, with a strong understanding of the mining
lifecycle (exploration to closure). - Deep knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, and mining-related compliance (safety,
environmental). - Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), Power BI/Tableau, and advanced
Excel. - Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
